MISA Malawi is organizing a series of media briefings to counter Covid-19 misinformation on topics such as vaccinations.

The Media Institute of Southern Africa (Misa) Malawi Chapter has organised a series of media briefings that seek to counter misinformation related to Covid-19 pandemic.

Misa Malawi chairperson Teresa Ndanga disclosed this last Wednesday during the first virtual media briefing on Covid-19 misinformation.

She said: “It is the hope of Misa Malawi that these press briefings will help journalists and media houses to access information that is factual, accurate and credible about the pandemic.”

The first virtual media briefing was aimed at misconceptions surrounding the Covid-19 vaccines with a presentation made by manager for the expanded immunisation programme in the Ministry of Health, Dr Mike Chisema.

This story, by Nation Publications Limited (NPL) Reporter Lloyd Chitsulo, first appeared in The Nation on Sunday. MISA Malawi has organised a series of media briefings in partnership with DW Akademie, Germany’s leading organisation for media development.
