The NGC has also re-appointed Lilian Khofi for financial oversight and Chikondi Kasambara for legal expertise.
The Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Malawi Chapter would like to notify the membership and stakeholders that Mr. Feston Malekezo of Times Group has been appointed as an Executive Member of the MISA Malawi National Governing Council (NGC).
The NGC has also appointed Lilian Khofi for financial oversight and Chikondi Kasambara for legal expertise. The two have been re-appointed for their commitment and dedication to MISA Malawi having served in the 2023-2026 NGC tenure.
The new appointments were made during a meeting held virtually on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
Malekezo has been co-opted into the NGC to represent the northern region based on Article VI: 6.3 of the MISA Malawi Constitution, which states:
“At any time the composition of the NGC shall have representation from the three regions of Malawi. In the event that no member from a region is elected, the AGM shall reserve a position and entrust the newly elected NGC to co-opt a member and such a member shall represent a region.”
The co-opted governors join newly elected members Felix Washon – Chairperson, Nathan Majawa – Vice Chairperson and Dorothy Kachitsa – Executive Member.
Among others, the NGC noted that Malekezo was a high standing and respected practicing journalist who also holds the position of Chairperson of Nyika Media Club, a grouping of journalists and communications experts from the northern region. The meeting observed that Malekezo was the best individual to represent the northern region due to his leadership qualities, clearly demonstrated by the trust and confidence MISA Malawi members showed by entrusting him with a leadership position at Nyika Media Club.
Malekezo is a dedicated MISA Malawi member and current Bureau Chief of Times Group in Mzuzu
We wish the newly co-opted NGC members all the best.
