Felix Washon elected MISA Malawi Chairperson

Nathan Majawa elected Vice Chairperson, Dorothy Kachitsa elected Executive Member.
The Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Malawi Chapter would like to notify the membership and stakeholders that Mr Felix Washon of the Malawi Red Cross Society has been elected as the new MISA Malawi Chairperson.
Washon amassed 150 votes in the National Governing Council (NGC) election that took place across Malawi and online. He was competing against Times Group Online Editor Mr Innocent Mphongolo who got 121 votes, Zodiak Broadcasting Station (ZBS) Sub-Editor Mr Alex Banda who got 78 votes and TWR Malawi National Director Ms Janet Mtali who got 55 votes.
The position of the Vice Chairperson has gone to Mr Nathan Majawa who competed against Mr Luciano Milala of Mudziwathu Community Radio.
The Executive Member position has gone to the Association for Women in Media (AWOME) President Dorothy Kachitsa who contested against Umunthu FM General Manager Mr Edward Kuwacha.
MISA Malawi would like to thank the NICE Public Trust Malawi for their professionalism and dedication in managing the elections. The support from NICE has greatly contributed to the credibility and successful conduct of the polls.
The Chapter would also like to express its gratitude to the monitors, candidates and the membership for the high level of professionalism and maturity shown to ensure the elections were a success.
