Malawi’s music maestro Lucius Banda has said he is ready for MISA Malawi Fundraising Show slated for Capital City Motel in Lilongwe this coming Friday, September 27, 2019.

Soldier, as Lucius is referred to in the music industry, will headline the all-night music feast organised to raise resources for the completion of the MISA Malawi offices and Training Centre, located in the Capital, Lilongwe.

In an interview with MISA Malawi Tuesday, Soldier said it was an honour and noble undertaking to perform at the MISA Malawi fundraiser.

“I am very excited to perform and help raise funds for MISA. To me journalists are people who have always helped us to be popular. It has taken the media fraternity to do their job for us to be known. Performing at the fundraiser is a noble thing to do and I feel honoured and very excited…I am fresh and ready for this show. I will give the best,’ Soldier said.

Soldier has called on people to patronise the show and support journalists as partners who deserve people’s support.

MISA Malawi Chairperson Teresa Ndanga said patrons to the show will help elevate journalism standards in the country.

“Journalists speak for the voiceless and it is now time for the nation to support a cause that directly impacts the work of journalists,” Ndanga said.

She said Lucius Banda and his Zembani Band plus the youthful Sam Simakweli, Nepman, Mr Friday and Jonny B are all ready to entertain Malawians on Friday night.

Meanwhile, MISA Malawi has called on companies, organisations and all well-wishers to support the fundraising show.

Some companies such as Wabwino Car Hire in Lilongwe, Skyline International and Web tickets Malawi have already offered their support.
