Suzgo Chitete

Essential Journalism Skills Trainer

Portrait of Suzgo ChiteteSuzgo Chitete is an award-winning journalist with over 10 years’ experience in both broadcast and print media. Currently a news analyst for the Nation Publications Limited (NPL), he has previously worked as a senior reporter for MBC and as a field producer, correspondent and fixer for Al Jazeera and BBC. Suzgo has offered communication consultancy to a number of public and private organisations. Suzgo holds a BA in Communication and Cultural Studies from Chancellor College-University of Malawi and a Diploma and Certificate in Journalism from the Malawi Institute of Journalism.


 

Emmanuel Kondowe

Essential Journalism Skills Trainer

Photo of Emmanuel KondoweEmmanuel Kondowe is a seasoned media consultant and trainer, who was the Acting Executive Secretary for the Malawi National Commission for UNESCO until March 2019. He coordinated the founding of six UNESCO-funded community radio stations and also co-edited the book, Journalism Practice in Malawi: History, Progress and Prospects. Emmanuel holds a Master’s Degree in International Communication from the University of South Africa, a Bachelor of Social Science and a Diploma in Law from the University of Malawi, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism from the London School of Journalism.


 

Telephorus Chigwenembe

Essential Public Communication Skills Trainer

Telephorus Chigwenembe has a background in public relations, journalism and teaching, and  specialises in corporate communication and public speaking. He currently manages public relations for the National Oil Company of Malawi where he has been working since 2015. Before this, he was a communications and learning specialist at Plan International Malawi, and also had stints at the Law Commission as civic education officer and at ZBS as a news reporter. Telephorus gained valuable training experience as a secondary school teacher for English and French. He graduated with an MA in Communication Studies from Central China Normal University and holds a Bachelor of Education in French and English Linguistics from the University of Malawi.


 

Teresa Temweka Ndanga

Essential Public Communication Skills Trainer

Teresa Temweka Ndanga is an award-winning journalist with more than 10 years’ experience as a reporter and editor. She has a BA in Journalism from Malawi Polytechnic and Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Harvard University (United States). Teresa is currently the Public Relations Manager for the Malawi-based AHL Group. Before this, she was the Director of News and Current Affairs at ZBS. Teresa has been the MISA Malawi Chairperson since June 2017.


 

Sellina Sheena Kainja

Digital Storytelling Trainer

Sellina Sheena Kainja is the Online Content Editor for Nation Publications with a passion for new media. Under her editorship, Nation Online has twice won the MISA Malawi Electronic Media House (Online) award. She is also a political columnist and the Southern Africa regional coordinator for Pan African Media Alliance for Climate Change. In 2009 she won the Southern Africa award for excellence in reporting hunger and poverty in Africa. She holds a BA in Journalism and is currently pursuing an MA in Political Science at the University of Malawi.


 

George Kalungwe

He previously worked as an Online Editor for ZBS and Reporter/ Sub Editor at Capital Radio. He is an award-winning journalist with close to 20 years’ experience as a reporter and an Editor. George holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and is currently studying for Master of Arts Degrees in International Relations and Public Administration. He also runs a multimedia consultancy called Liberty Media Productions.


 

Gregory Gondwe

Voter-Centred Reporting Trainer

Gregory Gondwe is a media consultant and multi-award winning investigative journalist trained by the Reuters Foundation, International Centre for Asset Recovery, African Union and Intelligent Africa as well as African Network of Centers for Investigative Reporting. He works with the South African-based AmaBhungane Centre for Investigative Journalism and is a correspondent for Associated Press. Gregory holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Malawi. He started practising journalism in 1993, gaining experience as a reporter, chief reporter, bureau chief and editor for various print, broadcasting and online media houses in Malawi and internationally.


 

Anderson J. Fumulani

Voter-Centred Reporting Trainer

Fumulani is a veteran freelance media and communications expert with more than 25 years’ experience working as a journalist for both national and international media houses, including Reuters, IRIN, Germany’s Radio Deutsche Welle and SABC’s Channel Africa. He also has extensive experience as a communications specialist, researcher and media trainer. Anderson holds an MA in Mass Communication from the University of Leicester (UK), a Bachelor of Business Administration from Malawi’s Columbia Commonwealth University and Pan-Africa Diploma in Journalism from Africa Literature Centre in Zambia.
