MISA Malawi will continue working with AWOME

MISA Malawi would like to congratulate the recently elected Association for Women in Media (AWOME) Executive Committee.

Members of AWOME elected a 10-member executive committee in Mponela, Dowa on Sunday, October 29, 2023.

We send our best wishes to the new committee for the victory and we hope for nothing but success as it leads AWOME in the years to come.

The trust bestowed upon the new executive is a huge vote of confidence among women in Malawi media and MISA Malawi will continue working with AWOME for women friendly media in Malawi.

Since 2019, AWOME has been actively working to raise the profiles of women in media and fight to end sexual abuse within and outside the newsroom. We believe the new committee will continue working with different stakeholders to ensure the fulfillment of AWOME vision of inclusive and gender sensitive media.

We also would like to thank the founding AWOME executive committee for establishing the strong foundation and amplifying the voice of women in Malawi media in the past four years.
